Who is our Client?

This is a new partnership for Source Edge as of November 2021 with an exciting, highly-valued technology company and new market entrant in Tokyo.

Our client is a computer vision technology company that is driving and leveraging the latest breakthroughs in AI to solve real world problems and improve people's lives. Their smartphone app, powered by their innovative application of Computer Vision and AI technology, is revolutionising the way that people go about their daily lives, in particular, with applications in financial and insurance services.   

Out client has a diverse global team (with members from almost 50 countries).  This role will be partnering closely with Engineering, Researcher and Business Development teams, leveraging modern data analysis and visualisation techniques to help drive the business toward customer-centric and commercially viable outcomes.

What would you be doing?

Reporting to the Global Head of Business Intelligence, you will:

  • Own external customer reporting, including preparation of materials and external communication, as well as follow up analyses and business recommendations
  • Facilitate access to data and insights, supporting internal teams to make data driven decisions, deep dive into anomalies, investigate and explain performance variances
  • Collaborate with the wider BI team to standardise recurring ad hoc analyses, incorporating these into Tableau
  • Work closely with the data engineers to standardise data across customers, and support non-technical internal teams with ad hoc data extraction tooling

Who are you?

  • University-level education with a degree in mathematics, economics, business or data science
  • Have experience working as an analyst or data scientist
  • Proven experience in data modelling, analysis and visualisation
  • Proficient with scripting languages, e.g. Python and SQL
  • Experience with Tableau
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience using data to identify opportunities for business improvement
  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable dealing with Japanese customers
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
