The Head of Compliance for IG Securities is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all compliance activities across IG's Japanese operations.
This role serves as the strategic compliance lead for Japan and acts as a critical commercial partner to the business, enabling successful execution of business strategy while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
To succeed in this role we think you will need:
Financial services expertise:
Minimum 10+ years extensive experience within financial markets, with demonstrated progression to senior compliance roles.
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Regulatory knowledge:
Deep, practical knowledge of financial services regulations and AML/CTF frameworks.
Capital markets experience:
proven experience in capital markets compliance.
Leadership:
Demonstrated experience managing compliance teams and influencing senior stakeholder groups.
Framework Implementation:
Demonstrated experience implementing a sophisticated, robust and proportionate compliance framework across complex financial services operations.
Stakeholder management:
Proven track record of managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships, including regulators, vendors, and industry partners.
Local market expertise:
Deep understanding of Japanese financial services market dynamics and regulatory expectations.
Bachelor degree in Commerce, Law, Finance, or related field
What will you do?
Leading and developing a team of five compliance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring effective resource allocation across all compliance activities.
Strategic leadership and cultural development within the Japan office environment.
Key Performance Indicators
Maintenance of all regulatory licenses and authorisations without adverse regulatory action
Effective implementation of regulatory changes within required timeframes
Quality and timeliness of compliance reporting and Board papers
Leadership effectiveness as measured through team engagement and development
Achievement of business objectives while maintaining full regulatory compliance
Strategic leadership in driving compliance-led initiatives that enhance business performance and regulatory outcomes
