Astellas aims to create strong R&D portfolio with world-class science and technology, and Innovation Lab, one of R&D functions, is strengthening research capabilities with a particular focus on selected non-oncology diseases and small molecule and biologics modality innovation.
This is a position for a medicinal chemist who advances small molecule drug discovery programs to create innovative drugs for patients on efficacy and safety profiles. In addition, you are expected to proactively and globally interact and work with all internal and external collaborators aiming to solve the scientific challenges associated with not only assigned projects, but also next generation platforms.
【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】
(雇入れ直後)
- Lead research programs cooperatively to create high value drug candidates or products as a Medicinal Chemistry expert
- Obtain key and high-quality scientific data to initiate and promote research programs by using his/her expertise and skills
- Analyze acquired experimental data with scientific accuracy and reliability, and make appropriate scientific judgments
- Prepare research reports properly and correctly describing the findings
- Understand the vision and strategy of the company and participate in the planning of research programs
- Be responsible for the negotiation and planning in contract research
- Monitor and analyze internal/external environment
- Report unpredictable issues immediately to supervisors
- Ensure research compliance and integrity

- Knowledge and experimental skills in Medicinal Chemistry research
- Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry (over 5 years)
- Master's degree in life science area
- Good collaboration and teamwork skills
- Oral and written communication skills in English

①基本給:当人の経歴・技術・技能等を考慮して決定
②裁量労働制の場合:裁量労働手当として職務グレードに応じて50,000~100,000円支給
③フレックスタイム制の場合:月間の所定労働時間を超えて勤務する時間に対して時間外勤務手当を支給
①Base salary: will be decided by the candidate's experience, skill and capability.
②When Discretionary Work System is applied: Discretionary work allowance will be paid.(50,000~100,000yen, based on the Grade)
③When Flextime System is applied: Overtime allowance will be paid for time worked in excess of prescribed working hours.
