The Decision, Science and Technology team (DST) is in search of a customer-centric, data-savvy Business Analyst to join the Tokyo, Japan team.
You will play a vital role in collaborating with Field RME Leaders (Reliability and Maintenance Engineering) to comprehend business challenges and propose data-driven solutions for piloting and network-wide implementation.
A suitable candidate will possess logical, innovative, and flexible qualities, combining excellent analytical skills with effective communication and collaboration with key business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive piloting and expansion of science products and programs in collaboration with Field Leaders, DST scientists, and global program managers.
- Design and develop key metrics, publish periodic reports for driving business decisions in partnership with Field Leaders.
- Analyze data with a deep understanding of business and related systems, ensuring high data quality and reliable insights.
- Write SQL codes for data retrieval and analysis, work with extensive datasets, automate data extraction, and build reporting dashboards.
- Communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders verbally and in writing.
- Collaborate closely with Operations and RME Leadership, present insights, foster cross-team collaboration, and align on roadmap items.
A Day in the Life:
As a Business Analyst at DST (Japan), your focus will be on developing science solutions to support RME’s Predictive Maintenance and Condition-Based Monitoring programs. You will engage with Field Leadership to address their challenges and offer recommendations, with regular interactions with Senior Field Leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with SQL
- 3+ years of experience in an analytical field related to tax or finance
- 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau
- Experience in defining requirements, utilizing data and metrics to derive business insights
- Experience in making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Proficiency in English and Japanese
- Master's degree in business or analytical discipline
