Ahead Staffing is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join one of our Global E-Commerce clients. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining point-based products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team and work on high-traffic, scalable systems.
Responsibilities:
- System Architecture: Design and implement system architectures that address both current and future business needs, while introducing modern methodologies.
- Technical Task Breakdown: Collaborate with Product Managers (PDM), Project Managers (PJM), and business stakeholders to understand specifications and clarify requirements. Break down technical complexities, offer alternative solutions, and provide new ideas.
- Technical Decision-Making: Lead technical decisions, considering trade-offs in system design and architecture.
- Application Development: Ensure the speed and quality of development, conducting design and code reviews, and participating in brainstorming sessions to improve the overall codebase.
- Quality Improvement & Optimization: Analyze potential bottlenecks and suggest solutions related to both functional and non-functional requirements (scalability, security, performance, and resilience). Contribute to improving development processes, such as implementing CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps practices.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior team members, guiding them through technical decisions, offering feedback, and leading by example.
- On-Call Support: Support production issues by managing alerts, reporting, and problem resolution.
Required Skills:
- Backend Development: At least 8+ years of experience in backend development using Java SpringBoot framework.
- High-Traffic Web Products: Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-traffic web products.
- Full Development Cycle: Experience working on both frontend and backend technologies in the context of large-scale web applications.
- Agile Development: Experience working in Agile environments, especially Scrum.
- Deployment Environments: Familiarity with containerized environments like Docker.
- Leadership Experience: Hands-on experience leading small to medium-sized development teams, offering guidance on task identification, technical decisions, and clarifications.
Desired Skills:
- Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS is a plus.
- Learning Mindset: Highly motivated, with a willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a diverse, global environment.
- Japanese Communication: While not required, Japanese language skills are a plus.
