What You'll Do
- Research, assess and acquire any type of information for the creation and maintenance of TomTom Map Databases
- Scan the local market for relevant data sources
- Perform and support quality checks
- Develop and maintain working relationships with existing and potential providers/partners as well as local authorities
- This role is to be a country sourcing and local intelligence specialist for Japan with expertise in the local language, geographical know-how, mapping regulations, local legislation knowledge and good industry connections
What You'll Need
- University degree in geography, cartography, geomatics or geoinformatics.
- 2+ years of work experience in GIS or related fields.
- Knowledge of known and common GIS software.
- Language skills Proficient in Japanese and English (both written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow successful negotiations with our partners and networking.
- Support and understand map quality for a given country/countries.
- Knowledge of geographic source data handling and data licenses.
- Great problem-solving and analytical skills.
What Is Nice To Have
- Additional knowledge on other languages
- Basic programming in SQL/Python
- Familiarity with FME software
