We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products, and processes - all while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

Our Team:
The APAC Structured Product Data Team covers three asset classes: Securitization products (RMBS/ABS/CLO etc), Structured Notes (CLN/ELN etc) and Derivative Warrants. The team provides our users with complete, accurate and timely security set-up and maintenance data. Cross-functional collaboration, deep domain knowledge, thoughtful automation, and data management expertise are paramount for our ability to continuously deliver high quality data to our rapidly growing client base.

What's the Role?
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, and technology to increase value for our data product and drive the dataset forward. In this role, you will be responsible for uncovering gaps in our current workflow and developing groundbreaking tools to improve the accuracy and coverage of our product as well as the efficiency and quality of supporting processes. You will be a technical leader in the regional and global team, solving problems with technical skills and devising solutions for data challenges. You will set strategy for quality enhancements of structured products reference data and work closely with various partners to implement our solution into the wider architecture. As part of our team, your contributions will be crucial to the development and growth of our product. You will be asked to work closely with our software developers and product partners to ensure our product's capabilities and offerings are world-class to meet the requirements of our clients, which include groups within Bloomberg, our core terminal customers, and our enterprise services subscribers.

We'll trust you to:

• Gain a detailed and complete understanding of Structured Product Data processing systems and current data storage mechanisms.
• Audit existing data infrastructure, utilize industry standard data architecture & modeling with focus on interoperability.
• Build and maintain robust and scalable data workflows to support the ingestion, transformation, and loading of vast amounts of data from various sources.
• Set up business rules and visualization to measure and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of our data using Bloomberg tech stack components such as business rule engines and QlikSense.
• Apply your proven project management skills to ensure all technical projects are on track with right requirements.
• Be part of global tech expert team to implement business plans and promote local needs.
• Proactively work with Product, Technology, Data Management Lab team and Domain experts to help craft data strategy and execution roadmap with market needs in mind.

You'll need to have:

• At least 4 years of experience working in a data engineering role, ideally in the financial industry.
• At least 4 years of programming experience in a development and/or production environment using tools such as Python for data management and ETL pipelines development.
• Strong experience working with Python, Unix, JIRA, and Github.
• Business proficiency or above in Japanese language due to coverage of Japanese clients.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a STEM related field with demonstrated experience in employing a systematic approach to problem solving applying technical skills.
• Project management skills and ability to prioritize and adapt to tasks accordingly.
• Ability to use sound judgement to escalate issues as they arise.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a distributed team environment.
• Ability to optimally communicate and present concepts and methodologies to diverse audiences.
• Powerful collaboration skills to work across departments and with global teams.
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.

We'd love to see:

• Knowledge and/or experience in using Bloomberg tech stack components such as Bloomberg Data Services, Dataflow recipes and Data Technologies Pipelines or equivalent tech stack.
• Exposure to Bloomberg products.
• Strong knowledge and/or experience in Securitisation product, such as RMBS, ABS, CLO, CMBS etc.
• Prior experience working with AI tools.
• Strong understanding and experience of the Bloomberg MAII infrastructure for securitisation.
• Knowledge in Credit Linked Notes, Equity Linked Notes, Warrants.
• Knowledge of statistics and advanced data management practices.
