This transformation is reshaping market participants, creating new opportunities, and introducing new participation dynamics. bp's European APAC Power & Carbon (EAPC) Trading business sits at the forefront of bp's group strategy. Originating from bp's Trading & Shipping segment, its strategic goal is to build a sustainable, profitable, and well-balanced power and carbon portfolio across target markets.

The Power Trading Contracts Operator role within the EAPC Power front office team is a key position as the bench looks to continue to build out its Power business within bp's Trading & Shipping group. The Tokyo based role will report to the Power Contracts Manager in London and is accountable for managing both pre-COD and post-COD contractual details of the growing Power Portfolio Agreements across Japan and the wider APAC region. Expectation is for this individual to provide a focused and project oriented approach to contractual exposures ensuring all contractual, regulatory and internal policy obligations are delivered as intended. This role will equally act as a key interface with internal and external PPA stakeholders, enabling business across the PPA deal lifecycle, ensuring internal process run smoothly, supporting origination activity and operationalization of the contracts by the Trading team. The Power Trading Contracts Operator will support broader team activity as and when the Power business requires and as the individual progresses through the role as appropriate.

You will be empowered to...

• Develop deep level knowledge of our growing and sophisticated commercial agreements (PPA's), with responsibility for assisting with contract negotiations, pre-commercial contractual obligations, risk mitigation & operational setup ensuring a high-quality handover to Origination, Operations and Trading.

• Onboard contracts into bp's risk management / straight through process, focusing on automation of PPA activity to enable future growth/scale.

• Monitor project delivery of assets and underlying PPA contracts, developing KPI's, monitoring progress through all project gates and lifecycle of PPA deal.

• Ensure Origination, Trading and Operation teams understand contractual PPA obligations and flexibility in order to optimise accordingly.

• Communicate internally all issues & concerns with various groups, including senior management, traders, originators, IT developers, ethics & compliance, legal, commodity risk, and operational excellence to protect interests.

• Communicate externally with PPA customers, asset operators, electricity grid operators, Balance Responsible Parties, carbon registries, other shippers, IT vendors, project developers and service providers.

• Coordinate and facilitate a PPA Asset Portfolio Review Committee with select Origination, Trading, Operations and Finance personnel to outline contractual status, red flags, contingencies and risks.

• Over time build knowledge to work fluidly across the full gas/power/carbon value chain, developing capabilities to identify & handle risk, enable business growth and generate value.

• Assist in model development with Portfolio Trading team around PPA contract exposures lending to well informed risk of infrastructure build out and leading contract optionality resulting from growing flex gen and renewable portfolio.

Your skills and experience:

• Business level fluency in Japanese and English required

• 4+ years previous work experience in Japanese Power markets essential requirement (Operations/Trading/Origination).

• Worked in operational environments requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, effective task prioritisation and delivery under time pressure.

• Proven track record of handling complex contracts and agreements (e.g. refinery agreements, offtake agreements, MSPAs, PPAs etc).

• Strength in forming effective relationships; strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills and a willingness to support colleagues to deliver team objectives.

• Strong project management experience with ability to run effectively across finite time, delivery and resource.

• Ability to show up internally and externally in a knowledgeable, respectful and confident way.

• Experience in contributing towards building a streamlined data driven organization to dynamically manage portfolio risks and extract extrinsic value.

• Strong data modelling or process automation experience.

• Knowledge and understanding of energy trading markets, trading instruments and risks a plus.

• Ability to handle and thrive in ambiguous environments and with transactions of increasing complexity.

本ポジションは、EAPC電力フロントオフィスチームにおける電力取引契約オペレーターとして、bpトレーディング&シッピング部門内で電力事業を拡大する上で重要な役割を担います。東京を拠点とし、ロンドンのプロダクトマネージャーに報告を行い、日本およびアジア太平洋地域で拡大を続ける電力売買契約(PPA)ポートフォリオについて、商業運転開始前(pre-COD)および開始後(post-COD)の契約詳細全般を管理する責務を負います。契約に関連するエクスポージャーを集中的かつプロジェクト指向で管理し、すべての契約上・規制上・内部ポリシー上の義務が意図通り履行されることを確保することが期待されます。また、社内外のPPAステークホルダーとの重要な接点として、PPA取引ライフサイクル全体を通じて事業を推進し、内部プロセスの円滑な運営、案件開拓活動のサポート、ならびに取引チームによる契約の実行を支援します。電力事業の必要に応じ、また個人の成長に合わせて、より広範なチーム活動のサポートも行います。

あなたが担う役割

· 当社の複雑で高度な商業契約(PPA)について深い知識を習得し、契約交渉の補助、商業運転前の契約上の義務履行、リスク軽減、および運用体制の構築を担当し、案件開拓、運用、取引各チームへの高品質な引き継ぎを実現します。

· 契約をbpのリスク管理/ストレートスループロセス(STP)へ組み込み、PPA業務の自動化に重点を置き、将来の成長・拡張を可能にします。

· 案件開拓、取引、運用各チームがPPA契約内容を理解していることを確認し、すべてのプロジェクト段階およびPPA取引ライフサイクルを通じて進捗をモニタリングします。

· 上級管理職、トレーダー、案件開拓担当者、IT開発者、倫理・コンプライアンス、法務、商品リスク、業務効化チームなど、社内のさまざまなグループに対し、懸念事項や問題を報告し、当社の利益を保護します。

· 選抜された案件開拓、取引、運用、財務担当者からなるPPA資産ポートフォリオ審査委員会を調整・推進し、契約状況、赤旗事項、不測事態、リスクについて概要を説明します。

求められるスキルと経験

· 日本語および英語のビジネスレベルの流暢さが必須です。

· 日本の電力市場における4年以上の実務経験(運用/取引/案件開拓分野)が必須です。

· 精製契約、オフショア契約、マスター販売契約(MSPA)、PPAなど、複雑な契約・協定を扱った実績。
