Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Senior IT application Expert / System Engineer
to lead IT initiatives and support business operations across Japan. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on project leadership, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders in a Japan-specific regulatory environment.

Role Overview
You will:
- Lead the business-side IT team
- Own end-to-end delivery of projects in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and store personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IT projects in partnership with local and global teams.
- Oversee local systems (Payroll, FoodIT) and global platforms (Infor WFM, Time-to-Eat), including user/system ID and access management.
- Gather and validate business requirements; propose effective technical solutions.
- Lead full project lifecycle: planning, design, build, testing, training, cutover, go-live, and Hypercare for Compass Japan entities.
- Facilitate blueprint and design workshops; develop process flows and business blueprint documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for store operations–related configurations, customizations, and process discussions.
- Coordinate interface design, setup, and testing with external vendors.
- Ensure compliance with Japan-specific practices and regulations, including:
- Procurement
- Accounts Receivable
- HR Stamping Data Connection
- Create detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and review vendor-prepared Technical Specification Documents (TSD).
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT project management.
- Experience in Retail, FMCG, or Food-related industries is preferred.
- Knowledge of finance and procurement systems is an advantage.
- Nissho Bookkeeping Level 2 (簿記2級) preferred but not mandatory.
- Native or business-level Japanese for vendor communication.
- Business-level English for collaboration with UK and India teams.

- Excellent communication (written & verbal).
- Professional, adaptable, and able to work effectively across all organizational levels.
- Experience in SI (systems integrator) or internal IT/system engineering roles is highly valued.

- 外部ベンダーと連携しインターフェースの設計、設定、テストを推進
- 日本特有の規制・商習慣を踏まえた適切なシステム実装

必須・歓迎スキル
- ITプロジェクト管理の実務経験
- 小売(リテール)業務プロセスへの理解
- Retail、FMCG、食品関連業界での経験歓迎
- 財務・調達系システムの知識があれば尚可
- 日商簿記2級をお持ちの方歓迎(必須ではありません)
- ベンダー対応のためのネイティブまたはビジネスレベル日本語
- グローバルチーム(英国・インド)と協業するためのビジネスレベル英語
