AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICIAN

Job Description
We are seeking an Audio Visual Technician to join a production company that handles a wide range of video and event productions, including national TV programs, commercials for major companies, live performances by famous artists, music videos, and corporate PR videos.

The successful candidate will support event technical production for our client companies. The Event Production (EP) Team aims to leverage high technical expertise to deliver outstanding event experiences for organizers, participants, and audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for video, audio, and lighting at live events held in studios equipped with broadcast-level equipment
  • Support a wide range of events, including press conferences, award ceremonies, marketing events, and pitch contests
  • Advise event organizers during pre-event meetings from a technical and production perspective
  • Act as the on-site EP Team lead, coordinating final adjustments with organizers on event day
  • Oversee all aspects of preparation, rehearsal, event execution, and post-production, including communication with outsourced technical staff
  • Demonstrate expertise in equipment operation, streaming/recording, and stage management while collaborating with multinational teams

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Operate audio consoles, video switchers, PTZ cameras, lighting desks, and related equipment
  • Conduct live streaming, recording, and basic video editing
  • Lead technical staff as Lead Technician
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and facilities
  • Coordinate with EP Team coordinator for meetings, adjustments, and documentation updates
  • Provide guidance and training to outsourced staff
  • Create basic audio, video, and image materials, including wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Manage event-related data and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal/external partners and report to overseas teams

Requirements

  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English
  • At least 3 years of experience in broadcasting or media production (freelance experience accepted)
  • Experience operating audio (PA, digital mixers) or video equipment (video switchers, PTZ cameras)
  • Deep knowledge of broadcasting and live streaming

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of audio/video codecs and protocols
  • TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Experience as a stage manager or director of photography
  • Experience in lighting design and operating lighting desks
  • Skills in Adobe CC, Auto CAD, Keynote, Final Cut Pro, Microsoft Office
  • Experience using Google Workspace / G Suite

Working Language

  • English and Japanese (50:50)
  • Remote work not available

Working Hours

  • 10:00-19:00, 5 days/week
  • 10 days paid leave in the first year, summer/winter holidays, condolence leave, childcare and caregiving leave
  • Mainly weekday events; compensatory leave provided for weekend events
