The mission of the Instock Management team is: 1) Optimizing inventory levels 2) Minimizing out-of-stock rates 3) Optimizing procurement costs

The Instock Manager creates instock/operation strategies and operates procurement processes according to product characteristics to achieve this mission. This role closely works with internal Supply Chain Management (SCM) departments and continuously optimizes our procurement processes. You are also responsible for optimizing supply chain processes between external vendors.

The Instock Manager in this position is responsible for Instock management of the Home Appliances category. Business-level or higher Japanese language skills are required for this role.

Instock managerは余剰在庫の最小化と欠品率の最小化の両方を実現するため商品特性に応じた調達プロセスを作成・運用します。そのため社内物流部門と調達プロセスの最適化を継続的に行い、またお取引会社様との間のサプライチェーンプロセスの最適化に対しても責任を持ちます。

本ポジションのInstock managerは家電カテゴリの商品調達責任者として、事業部戦略に基づき商品調達、在庫計画の立案・遂行を行います。

Key job responsibilities

· Plan and execute inventory strategies to optimize sales, in-stock rates, inventory turns and health for owned category

· Analyze and manage own key performance indicators such as in-stock rate, demand forecast accuracy, procurement lead time, fill rate, and inventory turns

· Work with external vendors to optimize supply-chain process between Amazon

· Detects system issues in the product procurement process and works with the system team for improvement

· Forecast and manage efficient inbound and outbound inventory flows and health including forecasting, purchasing, and removing unproductive inventory

· Drive root cause analysis and reporting for operational issues, develop action plans, and lead projects with managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously

· Collaborate with multiple internal teams to drive purchasing-process improvements and automation with inventing and simplifying new operations and systems

· 欠品率および在庫回転率改善のため需要予測精度、調達リードタイム、フィルレートなどの指標の分析、レポート、および改善プランの作成

· Amazon倉庫のインバウンドとアウトバウンド上の問題解決を社内SCM部門と協業して行います

A day in the life

You mainly work at the Meguro office. You can work from your home up to 2 days a week. You join quarterly, monthly, and weekly business reviews to track the progress and achieve business goals. You closely work with other Instock managers in your team for sharing best practices etc. You attend meetings with external vendors at a frequency of 1 or 2 times per month. You regularly discuss business/operational issues with internal SCM and system departments and lead problem solving.

About the team

Our team is responsible for optimizing product sourcing and inventory management in Amazon Retail. The team is sizable, and there are In-stock managers who are in charge of each product division, and program managers who are responsible for optimizing product sourcing channels/programs with key vendors. Members with diverse backgrounds closely work together to achieve goals to improve inventory health, availability (out of stock reduction), and procurement costs saving.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
• 3+ years of with Excel experience
• Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
• Fluent Japanese

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
• Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
• Strong proficiency in analytical tools and techniques including Microsoft Excel or statistical software
