SFOC(Solutions for Our Climate)について
SFOC(Solutions for Our Climate/気候ソリューション)は、地球の平均気温上昇を1.5℃以内に抑えるというパリ協定の目標に基づき、温室効果ガスの最も効果的な削減を目指して2016年に韓国で設立された気候変動対策を専門とする非営利団体です。

「世界的な脱化石燃料と再生可能エネルギーへの移行を加速させる」というミッションのもと、私たちは気候危機への対応において最も緊急性の高い課題を継続的に特定し、拡大していくことで、様々なステークホルダーと協力し、現実的な変化を促しています。

現在、SFOCは以下の3つの分野に注力しています:

• 脱化石燃料
• 産業部門の脱炭素化
• 再生可能エネルギーの拡大

効果的な気候変動対策を推進するため、私たちは調査研究、コミュニケーション、外交、法的アクション、市民社会との連携など、多様なアプローチを駆使しています。

チーム紹介
プログラムユニットは、気候変動の主要な温室効果ガスの排出要因である「公的金融(Public Finance)」「メタン(Methane & HFC)」「鉄鋼(Steel)」「海運(Shipping)」「森林破壊・土地利用(Forests & Land use)」といった各分野において、グリーン・トランジションに必要な制度的基盤および社会的な推進力を構築するためのリサーチ、政策提言、キャンペーン活動を主導・支援しています。

入社後は、各チームのProgram Officerとして、日本国内における低炭素生産工程構築やグリーン・トランジションの推進を目指して、市民社会、専門家、政策決定者などと協働し、各産業のステークホルダーが気候危機へ責任のある主体へと変化できるように多様な活動を企画・実行していただきます。

公的金融
主要な公的金融機関の化石燃料中心の投融資慣行は、世界的な化石燃料サプライチェーンの拡大につながっています。本チームは、輸出信用機関や主要公的金融機関が化石燃料中心の金融ポートフォリオから脱却し、クリーン・エネルギープロジェクトへ移行できるよう公的資金に働きかけています。

入社後は、日本の化石燃料中心の公的金融に関する財務的・環境的課題のリサーチを行うとともに、化石燃料金融からの脱却及び転換を促すキャンペーンの企画・実行を担っていただきます。

メタン
主要な公的金融機関の化石燃料中心の投融資慣行は、世界的な化石燃料サプライチェーンの拡大につながっています。本チームは、公的金融機関が再生可能エネルギーへの不可欠な移行を主導することを求めています。

入社後は、日本の化石燃料中心の公的金融に関する財務的・環境的課題のリサーチ・分析するとともに、関係するステークホルダーとの関係構築を進め、再生可能エネルギーへの移行を促す取り組みを担っていただきます。

鉄鋼
鉄鋼産業は産業部門の中で最も多くの温室効果ガスを排出しており、石炭依存型設備を低炭素生産プロセスへ迅速に転換することが求められています。本チームは、技術・政策・法律・キャンペーンを横断する多角的な戦略を通じて、「グリーン・スチール」への移行に必要な制度的基盤と社会的エンジンを構築しています。

入社後は、日本の鉄鋼産業に関する政策・データ分析、政府や各産業(鉄鋼メーカー等)との協働を行い、日本国内でのプロジェクトの企画・実行をサポートしていただきます。

海運
海運チームは、従来の化石燃料で動く船からグリーン燃料で動く船へ迅速な転換を求めるべく、技術・政策・法律・キャンペーンを横断する戦略を通じて、グリーン燃料への移行に必要な制度的基盤と社会動力を築いています。

入社後は、日本の海運業に関する政策分析、中央政府・自治体、海運会社、燃料サプライヤー、港湾などの主要ステークホルダーと協働を行い、日本国内でのキャンペーンの企画・実行を担っていただきます。

森林
森林チームは、森林・エネルギー・農業の交差点において森林破壊を引き起こす政策や企業活動に対して、森林バイオ・マスやパーム油由来のバイオ燃料の拡大阻止や地域社会の権利保護に取り組んでいます。特に、日本や韓国など東アジアの需要国において、森林破壊を伴う商品の取引・消費に対する認識を高め、官民の変革を促進しています。

入社後は、森林破壊や紛争リスクを伴う商品のサプライチェーンおよび環境・社会的影響に関するリサーチを実施・管理していただきます。

職務概要
政府・企業・金融・市民社会など、多様なステークホルダーとともに気候変動の原因を提供する各産業に関する政策・慣習に関する研究、政策提言、キャンペーン等を主導・サポートしていただきます。

Organization Description
SFOC was established in South Korea in 2016 with the goal of most effectively reducing greenhouse gases in line with the Paris Agreement's target to limit the global average temperature increase to within 1.5°C.

Under the mission of 'Accelerating the Global Transition to Renewable Energy and Phasing Out Fossil Fuels,' we continuously identify and expand on the most urgent issues that need to be addressed to combat the climate crisis. By collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, we promote tangible change.

SFOC currently focuses on three major areas: Fossil Fuel Phase-Out, Industrial Decarbonization, and Renewable Energy Expansion. To drive effective climate crisis response, we employ a variety of tactics including research, communication, diplomacy, legal action, and civil society alliances.

Believing that 'People' are the key to tackling the climate crisis, we work alongside experts from various fields to engage in climate action. SFOC embraces a creative approach, unrestricted by conventional strategies, to find solutions.

We collaborate with partners in Korea, other parts of Asia, and around the world. Centered on climate agendas that SFOC emphasizes, we aim to grow as a key organization in the global response to the climate crisis.

We have been building a network with stakeholders in Japan for several years, and we have finally reached the stage of establishing our Japanese corporation.

Several of our members are already working in Japan to reduce carbon emissions, contributing through our Public Finance, Steel, and Communications teams.

Unit Introduction
Our Program Unit Leads And Supports Research, Policy Advocacy, And Campaign Activities Across Several Key Sectors That Are Among The Largest Sources Of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Public Finance, Methane & HFCs, Steel, Shipping, and Forests & Land Use.
We aim to build the institutional foundations and social momentum necessary for a green transition.

As a Program Officer, you will collaborate with civil society, experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders in Japan to design and implement initiatives that promote low-carbon production processes and accelerate the country's green transition. Your role is to help transform industry stakeholders into responsible actors in addressing the climate crisis.

Program Areas
Public Finance
Major public financial institutions continue to drive fossil fuel expansion through lending and investment practices utilizing public funds. Our team advocates for public financial institutions to help drive the critical shift to renewable energy.

You will research financial and environmental challenges of Japan's fossil fuel–based public finance and develop relationships with the relevant stakeholders to incentivize a renewable energy transition.

Methane
Methane is a greenhouse gas with more than 80 times the warming potential of CO₂. Cutting methane emissions is one of the fastest ways to slow climate change. Our Methane Team seeks to drive policy change across key emitting sectors such as energy, waste, and agriculture.

You will conduct field research on Japan's energy industry and policies, engage with stakeholders across government and industry, and execute methane reduction projects.

Steel
The steel industry is the largest industrial source of greenhouse gas emissions. Transitioning from coal-based processes to low-carbon production is essential. Our Steel Team pursues a multi-pronged strategy—spanning technology, policy, law, and campaigns—to build the institutional and social foundations for "green steel."

You will analyze steel-related policies and data, collaborate with Japanese government and industry stakeholders (including steelmakers), and support project planning and execution in Japan.

Shipping
The shipping industry must rapidly shift from fossil-fuel-powered vessels to green-fuel vessels. Our Shipping Team works across technology, policy, law, and campaigns to enable this transition.

You will analyze policies related to Japan's shipping industry, collaborate with stakeholders including central/local governments, shipping companies, fuel suppliers, and ports, and support campaign planning and execution in Japan.

Forests & Land use
Our Forest & Land Use Team challenges policies and corporate practices that drive deforestation at the nexus of forestry, energy, and agriculture. We work to stop the expansion of forest biomass and palm-oil biofuels while protecting community rights. In East Asia, particularly Japan and Korea, we aim to raise awareness of deforestation-linked commodities and promote change across public and private sectors.

You will research and manage projects on supply chains of deforestation- and conflict-risk commodities, including their environmental and social impacts.

Role Summary
You will conduct research, policy advocacy, and campaign activities related to the industrial drivers of climate change, in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including government, industry, finance, and civil society.

Common Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for industrial decarbonization and the green transition
• Analyze policies and trends on how climate change affects industries
• Engage with and build networks among stakeholders in Japan and internationally, including government, industry, and civil society
• Support the planning and execution of project-related campaigns
• Assist with seminars and events that promote the green transition of industry
• Prepare proposals, fundraising materials, and reports, and provide other related project support as needed
• Liaise with the Korea Office and other international offices to ensure projects in Japan align with organizational strategy and direction

Required Skills & Qualifications (Common)

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent)
• Strong interest in and understanding of issues related to industry, climate, environment, energy, and policy
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, as well as independently (including remote work)
• Experience in writing academic papers such as a graduation thesis, or equivalent research and writing skills
• Flexibility to handle a wide range of ad-hoc tasks
• Ability to travel overseas as required
• Business-level proficiency in English (TOEIC 700 or above) or Korean (TOPIK Level 4 or above) —

• At least three years of relevant professional experience (any industrial/ functional background) or a master's degree or higher

Compensation
Annual Salary: Starting from JPY 4.2 Million
