FDC Engineer Job Description

The Fault Detect Classification (FDC) Engineer plays a crucial role in semiconductor manufacturing by ensuring the proper monitoring of processing data collected from equipment. This enables early detection of equipment abnormalities, minimizes product impact, and improves quality and yield.

The FDC Engineer works closely with the Process/Equipment Engineer to improve the early detection of equipment abnormalities, optimize business processes related to FDC, and develop effective monitoring methods. Additionally, they collaborate with Micron's Global Team and overseas production Fab's FDC teams on business process improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

• Managing project schedules and implementing assigned tasks
• Understanding basic concepts of equipment control (FDC) and performing FDC activities for each process area
• Developing FDC controllers, adapting, and optimizing them for production, and providing efficient solutions
• Implementing system change management and metric improvement using IoT
• Improving FDC business processes to ensure quality output in partnership with stakeholders
• Troubleshooting FDC systems affecting each area and the Fab equipment control models
• Collaborating with local and global project teams to leverage best solutions
• Leading daily FDC health checks and reducing setting mistakes, false alarms, and chronic OOC with other department members

Qualifications:

• General knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), FDC, and data analysis
• Basic understanding of statistics and statistical calculations
• Basic understanding of Fab equipment hardware
• Basic understanding of IoT technology
• Basic understanding of the defense line concept
• Problem-solving skills based on data analysis
• Ability to understand, present, teach, and develop technical subjects
• Understanding of communication and data flow between Fab equipment and IT hosts
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic English communication skills (high school graduation level)

Education and Experience: BS in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
