Hands-on technical leader who designs and delivers AI solutions (with emphasis on Generative AI), while providing pragmatic project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and actively contribute to AI solution development: model selection, fine-tuning, evaluation, and production integration.
• Design and implement scalable AI systems, APIs, and data/inference pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and mentor engineers through code reviews and design guidance.
• Define technical roadmaps, milestones, deliverables, and coordinate with stakeholders on scope and priorities.
• Provide project leadership (scheduling, resource alignment, risk/issue management) to keep delivery on track.
• Ensure deliverables meet technical specifications, quality standards, security, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with business units to translate objectives into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
• Report progress, risks, and mitigation plans to directors and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Must Have

• 10+ years of full-time professional experience, including significant hands-on development in AI or software engineering.
• Deep knowledge of Generative AI (LLMs, RAG, LVM, diffusion) and applied prompt engineering, as well as traditional ML.
• Strong programming skills in Python; proficiency with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Strong familiarity developing with Databricks products and services.
• Experience working with APIs
• Practical experience shipping AI models to production (fine-tuning, evaluation, observability, and deployment).
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical tasks and deliver under tight timelines.
• Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously (scheduling, resource alignment, and stakeholder coordination).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Business-level proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred

• Databricks certifications.
• End-to-end solution experience (data, model, service, UI) and systems design skills.
• Familiarity with MLOps and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including CI/CD and model serving.
• Azure certifications.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring talent.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese (written and spoken).
