Summary
As a Benefit & Operation Specialist, you will deliver an exceptional employee experience by managing compensation and benefits operations, acting as a trusted advisor, and serving as a key liaison between global and local teams.
While payroll is not your main responsibility, you will be heavily involved in payroll processes to support the Global Payroll Delivery Hub, ensuring smooth collaboration and compliance.
Employee Support:
Handle inquiries from employees and managers regarding compensation, benefits, and leave management, ensuring timely and accurate responses aligned with KPI targets.
Benefits Operations:
Administer local benefit programs (GLTD, long-term leave, health check-ups, insurance claims) and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Global Coordination:
Collaborate with global Total Rewards teams on policies (Merit, IC, Stock Plans), provide local insights, and support implementation in Japan.
Global Mobility Support:
Assist with Local-to-Local transfers, localization cases, and new hire abroad processes, ensuring smooth coordination between global and local teams.
Payroll related Collaboration:
While payroll is not a primary responsibility, work closely with the Global Payroll Delivery Hub to support accurate data flow and compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Global Project Participation:
Support and lead global C&B projects, ensuring successful execution and alignment with both global and local requirements.
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies; maintain accurate documentation for audits and statutory reporting.
Continuous Improvement:
Analyze market trends and propose enhancements to remain competitive and improve employee experience.
Requirements
University degree or equivalent experience in HR or related field
At least 5+ years' experience in C&B area
Minimum 2 years' experience in a multinational company
Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law and social insurance
Fluency in Japanese and English (Business level)
Ability to work under high pressure and deliver results with speed and accuracy
Agile mindset with adaptability to changing priorities and global projects
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with payroll coordination and HR systems
Global project experience
