As a Customs Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, your job is to optimise logistics to keep our global supply chains running smoothly. But the impact of your work goes beyond that. You will be part of our Road Logistics team, adding your customs expertise + skills to the delivery of customer + operational excellence.

How you create impact
You will be responsible for the smooth + compliant operations of all customs-related activities while keeping abreast of updated customs related regulations. You will do this by working with a variety of internal + external stakeholders while focusing on the following key objectives.

What we would like you to bring

  • To submit customs declaration form(s) + complete related activities as required by the government, facilitating timely clearance of all shipments.
  • To perform end-to-end customs activities, including but not limited to checking of documents, entering data in relevant systems, inspections of goods, clearance + third-party documents.
  • To oversee loading + unloading activities, escalate any defects to relevant parties + follow up with necessary surveys.
  • To respond to customs-related inquiries + resolve disputes, including tariff codes between customers + regulatory officers.
  • To create standard operating procedures, identify business risks + provide trainings whenever required.
  • To attend to customs examinations + ensure relevant certifications are valid.
  • To monitor day-to-day performance of customs-related suppliers.
  • To arrange for product re-classification with customs ruling department if required.
