Role Summary
Huxley is working with a top global real estate investor to seek a seasoned
Vice President, Asset Management
to lead asset management activities across allocated real estate investments in Japan. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, transactional experience, and the ability to drive value throughout the full investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Management & Acquisitions
- Oversee end‑to‑end investment and portfolio management responsibilities for assigned assets
- Source hard assets, portfolios, and programmatic opportunities through co‑mingled funds, club deals, JV partnerships, and direct acquisitions
- Conduct site visits and provide detailed market research and analysis for potential investment opportunities
- Underwrite investments, including financial analysis, validation of assumptions through market data, and preparation/presentation of investment memos
- Negotiate transaction terms with counterparties including sellers, partners, and managers
- Structure investments with the objective of optimizing returns and enhancing capital efficiency
- Coordinate with external financial institutions to arrange debt financing
- Manage transactions by overseeing third‑party advisors during due diligence and facilitating communication with internal stakeholders
Life Cycle Asset Management
- Prepare and support execution of business plans at the asset and investment level
- Monitor ongoing development projects and phased acquisitions within programmatic partnerships
- Appoint and oversee service providers to ensure asset performance and quality
- Provide regular portfolio reporting and maintain governance standards across investments
Dispositions
- Lead the sale process for assets/investments and prepare divestment memos
Strategic & Market Research
- Conduct ongoing macroeconomic and real estate market research and analysis
- Collaborate with the Strategy & Capital Formation team to support development of Japan investment strategies
Relationship Management & Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong inbound and outbound relationships with investors, partners, managers, agents, and advisors
- Drive business development initiatives and strategic projects within the assigned region
Key Requirements
- Strong academic background with focus on real estate investment, portfolio management, or asset management
- Minimum
10 years of real estate experience
, preferably in asset or portfolio management roles - Deep understanding of Japan's real estate markets across multiple sectors
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and drive complex initiatives
- Flexibility to travel on a regular basis
