As some of the most sophisticated investors, investment consultants advise many of GS Asset Management's clients on their investment strategy and manager selection. The Consultant Relations team works with over 100 investment consultant firms around the world which advise on asset allocation for a diverse set of clients. The role requires a deep understanding of clients' needs, consultants' approaches, and GS' investment strategies.

YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking a relationship-driven, commercially-aware Associate for a role in AWM's Consultant Relations team in APAC. In this role, you will support the day-to-day needs of the Client Solutions Group to win new clients and retain existing ones. The position will be at Associate level and based in Japan.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Support senior consultant relationship managers in providing excellent service to high-profile investment consultants across APAC
  • Proactively and reactively service consultants' requests to a high standard
  • Provide timely and proactive updates to consultants on key strategies
  • Organise research meetings, portfolio reviews and presentations between investment consultants and GS
  • Research, track and summarise progress with investment consultants, including: opportunities, product ratings, and market trends in asset allocation
  • Ensure reporting for your region is accurate and reflect the latest updates
  • Work with the global team on internal initiatives/management reporting
  • Develop a close partnership with internal sales teams to commercialise our strategies
  • Run projects and assist in developing team strategy
  • Build your own relationships with investment consultants

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • 3-5 years of work experience at an asset manager, investment consultant, Goldman Sachs, or other financial firm
  • Very strong interpersonal skills: this role requires the ability to build excellent working relationships with many internal and external parties
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • Salesforce proficiency preferred
