Main Responsibilities:
As a Junior Repo Trader, you will focus on learning and adapting as much as possible to quickly contribute to the day-to-day and further business development of the Fixed Income Financing APAC business within Global Securities Financing in Natixis, based out of Tokyo, Japan.
The primary focus will be on JGB but you will also look at further collateral as covered by the desk (all FI collateral scope), with the objective to drive further business development be in in terms of clients, product offering or trade ideas generation as well as help automate the day-to-day to a maximum.
The desk covers clients from all of the APAC region, out of Japan.
Summary of duties and responsibilities
:
- Facilitate desk's ambition to maintain and develop the activity for repo/security borrowing lending business on all FI collateral, with a focus on JGBs
- Quote, execute, book and hedge positions, with a strong focus on risk management.
- Manage daily communications with other teams such as Sales, Risks, IT, Treasury, BM, etc
- Support development of the client franchise by close cooperation with the sales force and other internal departments
- Support the automation of daily tasks alone
- Back up and support desk activity as needed.
Required Skills:
- Min 1-2 years experience in repo/securities financing business or related field
- Good knowledge of Japanese markets in particular
- Fluent in Japanese & English
- Strong motivation to learn and suggest new ideas to constantly challenge the status quo
- Strong coding skills in Python would be a plus
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
