The Role
We are seeking an experienced Trader with Japanese market expertise to join the team at Schonfeld in our Tokyo office. You will have a passion for trading and a deep understanding of the, Japanese market, proactively collaborating with portfolio managers on market knowledge, performance and trends. You will create strong relationships across internal/external stakeholder groups and be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
What you'll do
- Maintain best practice execution on all trades and ensure the desk is always providing best execution service to Portfolio Managers
- Proactively collaborate with Portfolio Managers on market color, portfolio performance summaries and trading ideas
- Understand day-to-day risk, regulatory, and compliance issues associated with all execution matters in Japan
- Understand Ops & Technology issues associated with the Asia Trading desk
- Manage broker relationships and provide feedback to all our execution counterparties
- Manage communication and trading needs of US and European PMs with Japanese market
What you'll bring
What you need:
- Experience in the Japanese market.
- Deep understanding of equities trading, within Japanese market
- Japanese and English language skills.
- Experience collaborating and supporting multiple Portfolio Managers
- Knowledge around broker-sponsored algorithms, broker cash desks, dark pools and DMA facilities
- Fluency with trading technology, execution management systems and order management systems
- Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
- Knowledge around the structure of the major Asian equity markets
- Deep curiosity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills
