Project Manager for Server and Mainframe System Automation Platform Construction Project

We are looking for a Project Manager to plan, implement and manage the entire Server and Mainframe System Automation Platform Construction Project. The project team will be a mixed team of Japanese and Indian members. After the platform construction, you will work as a Product Owner for the team that develops automation of business operations.

The responsibilities of the project manager include:

• Defining and managing the project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Managing and guiding the project team
• Communicating and coordinating with stakeholders
• Risk management and problem-solving
• Developing and executing quality management plans
• Reporting and documenting project progress
• Evaluating and selecting automation tools and technologies
• Introducing best practices and optimizing processes

Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl

Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally "figuring it out." This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.

This role has two halves: First, contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. And second, long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution. This role isn't specific to any one platform, so you'll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, you'll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you won't find anywhere else.

You'll be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front. This means dealing with both client expectations and internal challenges – in other words, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference, and a lot of people will witness your contributions. In fact, a frequent sign of success for our Infrastructure Specialists is when clients come back to us and ask for the same person by name. That's the kind of impact you can have

Who You Are

We're looking for someone with:

• 10+ years of project management experience
• Knowledge and experience with system automation tools (Ansible, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Dynatrace, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
• Problem-solving skills and risk management abilities
• Leadership and stakeholder management experience
• Basic technical skills in mainframe and server systems
• PMP or other project management certifications
• Experience in operating large-scale server and mainframe systems
• English communication skills (TOEIC 730 or higher)
• Cross-cultural work experience

Required Technical and Professional Experience

We're looking for someone with:

• Deep expertise within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• Enterprise IT application experience
• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain
• In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Must have experience driving for engineering solutions and working across teams
• Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
• Strong process improvement experience
• Fluency in Japanese and English

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

We're looking for someone with:

• In-depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture with experience with AWS and Azure is a bonus
• Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities
• Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
