Overview

We are looking for a skilled Application Engineer to join our AI & Cloud Engineering (ACE) Division and AI Workbench team. As part of this role, you will contribute to the development of our cloud-based AI Workbench, dedicated to facilitating the advancement of Automotive AI Software. The AI Workbench comprises four key functional blocks, one of which grants access to both the SILS (Software in the Loop Simulator) and HILS (Hardware in the Loop Simulator).

As an Application Engineer within the ACE team, your main tasks will involve crafting, enhancing, and managing web-based applications tailored to meet our organizational requirements. We require someone with a solid foundation in web development, various programming languages, and software engineering principles, coupled with a drive to innovate and deliver user-centric applications.

Our division's primary goal is to leverage cutting-edge AI and cloud technologies to pioneer top-tier AI inference solutions for advanced driver safety engineers working on self-driving vehicles and other high-performance computing products. Renesas stands out as a key player in the automotive electronics space at a global level, presenting a unique chance for you to contribute to establishing the infrastructure needed to deploy our AI software across the multitude of devices we distribute annually. You will become part of our newly established AI & Cloud Engineering team, consisting of approximately 100 software engineers. With a significant surge in demand for our AI-related offerings, we are on track to triple our workforce within the next three years, opening up ample opportunities for you to aid in our team's expansion while maintaining a close-knit environment. Our current focus is on recruiting individuals for our Tokyo, Beijing, and Singapore offices. For candidates residing outside these locations, we are prepared to assist with relocation to one of the specified sites based on team requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications utilizing contemporary web technologies and frameworks.
  • Compose clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Create user interfaces that offer seamless functionality across various browsers and devices.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services into web applications to enrich functionality and user experience.
  • Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to detect and resolve issues, enhance performance, and ensure the reliability of web applications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and fellow team members as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in roles such as Web Developer, Software Engineer, or similar.
  • Proficiency in full-stack web development.
  • Proficient in Python and Typescript programming languages.
  • Familiarity with server-side frameworks like Django, React, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of web standards, protocols, and best practices in web development.
  • Experience in implementing security measures for web applications, including certificate and token management.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
