Description
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Administration, maintenance, and support OMNIVISION's Windows and Linux server environment which includes various versions as well as the use of VMWare and VDI technical such as Citrix. Ensuring optimal performance and scalability to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
- Collaborate with global teams and systems engineering to design, implementation, and optimization Linux infrastructure design and operations and related components.
- Incident Resolution and Technical Escalations: Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, leveraging your advanced troubleshooting skills to swiftly diagnose and resolve incidents, minimizing impact on business operations.
- Comprehensive Documentation and Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain Runbooks, Standard Operating Procedures and other procedures and documentations.
- Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management: Conduct root cause analysis for critical problems and major incidents, identifying underlying issues and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences, thereby safeguarding business continuity.
- Proactive Performance Monitoring and Security Compliance: Utilize advanced monitoring tools and command-line interface utilities to continuously assess server performance, identify potential vulnerabilities, and ensure adherence to stringent security standards.
- Change Management and Risk Mitigation: Plan, coordinate and execute system upgrades, patches, and firmware updates, meticulously evaluating risks and impacts to minimize disruptions and maintain system integrity.
- On-call Support and Vendor Coordination: Provide responsive support during both regular business hours and after-hours as part of on-call rotations, collaborating closely with external vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to swiftly resolve issues and optimize service delivery.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and technical innovations, advocating for adopting best practices and driving efficiency gains across the IT infrastructure landscape.
- Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with IT management, end-users, and departmental teams to communicate feedback, share insights, and champion initiatives aimed at enhancing operational excellence and delivering exceptional service quality
- Support users for Information Systems related issues such as PC, Software, Network, Servers, Security, Windows and Linux.
- The Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and will require a strong sense of accountability.
Requirements
- Understanding of technology systems such as networks, applications, servers, cloud, authentication, and emerging technologies.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking, Windows, Unix/Linux, and networking services such as SSL, DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.
- 5+ years of experience with implementing, maintaining and supporting Windows servers.
- 3+ years of experience with using or supporting Linux system would be desirable.
- 5+ years Cisco network experience would be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge with information security, vulnerability assessment, vulnerability threat management, or security incident management.
- Good communications skills (oral and written) with a history of successfully engaging with multiple levels of leadership.
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work independently with little oversight.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, would be an advantage.
- Ability to grasp new technologies quickly, prioritize and multitask on multiple responsibilities.
- Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience required.
- Business level Japanese & English communication skill.
