Job Title: Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary

This position requires a Native or Equivalent level of Japanese language and Business English proficiency. The successful candidate will analyze vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and provide recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate vendor proposals to ensure sourcing requirements are met.
• Negotiate and close contracts with suppliers.
• Develop and implement inventory strategies to support production requirements.
• Purchase items that require quality and compatibility assessment.
• Identify purchasing possibilities and maintain accurate master planning data in business systems.
• Participate in designing plans and systems to efficiently implement material requirements.
• Maintain operational relations with relevant suppliers and administer ongoing supplier management programs.
• Make medium-term forecasts of cost price development and attune purchase orders with manufacturing needs.
• Advising Product Management and Supply Management on stagnation issues and troubleshoot supply bottlenecks independently.
• Conduct market scanning to gain insight into supplier markets, new market developments, and other relevant information.
• Evaluate quotations, conduct cost price analyses, negotiate deals, and select suppliers.
• Determine inventory strategy to ensure timely and adequate inventory flow.

Requirements:

• Fluent Japanese language ability.
• Business English proficiency.

Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
