Senior Manager of Government Affairs, Japan

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Government Affairs strategy and plans in Japan. As a key advisor to senior executive leaders, you will analyze trends, assess their impact, and support cross-functional teams to achieve business results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead key projects and develop valuable relationships with public partners to secure Government support for business growth.
• Drive sustained relationships at the central government and prefecture level to develop brand trust with Government, NGOs, industry associations, and academia partners.
• Develop a framework for practices in Japan and provide guidance and mentorship to team members on approach and interaction with relevant Government departments.
• Monitor political environment and reforms, developing analysis and strategic responses to impact Micron and the industry.
• Maintain relationships with strategic partners across industry associations and the Government, including relevant Ministries, prefectures, municipalities, and Government agencies.
• Coordinate and implement strategies that align with the objectives and goals of Micron Foundation's work and ESG sustainability efforts.
• Engage with METI and other relevant Ministries to pursue Micron's visibility, grants, and incentive schemes, partnership opportunities, pilot projects, and non-financial benefits.
• Provide strategic directions to relevant partners on R&D grants application and implementation and proactively provide counsel on government incentives and opportunities for public-private partnerships.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or proven experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience in Government and/or Government Affairs matters, ideally relating to technology or manufacturing sectors in Japan.
• Track record in partnering with senior Government executives and Government partners with a strong ability to network proactively and with integrity.
• Proficient at integrating business strategy with public policy and collaborate optimally across different partners to achieve business results and goals.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels in Japanese/English.

Estimated Salary: ¥10,000,000 - ¥15,000,000 per annum
