Summary of Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the analysis and providing assessment of relevant public policy issues and their implications on SHEIN's business interests in Japan. At the same time, he/she will also be responsible for developing and driving public communications strategies to promote SHEIN's corporate profile. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering engagements and strategic partnerships with public stakeholders and key media in the country, with a view to safeguard the company's reputation among external stakeholders and securing our commercial interests in Japan.
In this role, the candidate must be able to work effectively with various teams, including the Customer Service, Sustainability, Legal, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams, to advance SHEIN's corporate interests in Japan. He/she should possess a deep interest and ability to understand how politics, business, fashion, sustainability, technology and innovation, as well as international relations are interconnected.
Job Responsibilities
1.Track, monitor and assess strategic/policy issues and their implications to SHEIN's commercial interests in Japan.
2.Develop and provide recommendations to SHEIN's senior management and relevant business units concerning political, policy, and regulatory issues.
3.Identify, engage and build relations with key stakeholders (including political office holders, government officials, regulators, non-governmental organizations, media, and industry associations) to secure SHEIN's market access and expansion efforts in Japan.
4.Develop and manage SHEIN communications materials to enhance corporate visibility and public image.
5.Develop, coordinate, and drive implementation of external communication strategies and PR campaigns to position and promote SHEIN's corporate profile.
6.Track, monitor and lead daily reporting on media commentary and public discourse.
7.Responsible for managing corporate PR agency to meet KPIs.
8.Represent SHEIN in corporate/media activities.
9.Pre-empt and provide counsel on issues management, as well as manage crisis communications situations.
10.Prepare and facilitate senior management for public speaking and media engagements.
11.Plan and execute corporate social responsibility programmes in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
1.Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics, Communications, Media, Journalism, or related fields.
2.At least 10 years of working experience in corporate/public affairs, and/or government relations/public policy, and/or corporate communications/public relations.
3.Experience in policy research, development, and analysis, and/or track record in developing and implementing external communication strategies/campaigns
4.Strong policy/regulatory network and/or media relations in Japan.
5.Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral), and project management skills.
6.Good knowledge and experience in digital media tools/platforms
7.Strong proficiency in English and Japanese.
8.Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
9.Ability to multi-task and have exceptional attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
