Internship Position: Director's Assistant Intern
Location: Tokyo, Japan / On-site
Duration: 6 months, full-time or part-time

With a global perspective and a deep network within the art world, we are committed to offering tailored strategies to support clients in acquiring, managing, and exhibiting artwork.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to work closely with the company's Director across a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in the arts and have experience working with art-related texts, demonstrating strong editorial skills and language proficiency. The Intern will be responsible for all communications in Japanese; therefore, professional fluency in Japanese is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about contemporary art and eager to gain hands-on experience in the art advisory field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market and artist research in English and Japanese
- Assist with client presentations and proposal preparation in Japanese
- Support curatorial planning and logistics for exhibitions and events in Japanese
- Update and maintain internal databases and artwork inventories in English
- Draft artist biographies, artwork descriptions, and other marketing content in Japanese
- Attend gallery openings, art fairs, and relevant industry events when possible
- Provide general administrative support to the Director in Japanese
Qualifications:
- Degree in Art History, Arts Management, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese
- Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in Google Workspace; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and art database systems
- Demonstrated passion for contemporary art and a strong interest in the art market
- Fluency in English and Japanese (business/professional level)
- Independent, self-motivated, and proactive approach to tasks
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Google Slides to create presentations, portfolios, and other visual materials.
