Tokyo GlobalLogic


You will understand GlobalLogic's digital engineering methods and management techniques, facilitate clients in the Japanese market, and establish a method for managing digital engineering projects as GlobalLogic Japan.

You will also be responsible for promoting the establishment of a professional human resources team in GlobalLogic Japan.

GlobalLogic Japan has four roles:
Architect, project manager, Strategist, and Designer. The project manager is expected to work with each role, taking responsibility for multiple projects and coordinating project promotion.

Requirements

Must have(PMO)

Business-level Japanese: Communication with APSD members who may not be accustomed to working with non-Japanese speakers is essential.

English Proficiency:
Communication with development teams in CEE and India is required.

As this involves internal members only, full business fluency is not strictly required; however, the candidate must be capable of chasing members up and discussing or debating issues effectively.


Budget Management:

The role involves discussing investment budgets with various development teams and PMs in CEE and India, managing budget formulation, and securing approval from APSD.

It also requires the ability to respond instantly to sudden budget changes, such as travel expenses.

Task Management:
Managing tasks for investment budget members in CEE and India (a total of approx. 60 people, 40 FTEs), tracking their utilisation, and linking this data to the budget (including forecasting).

Reporting:
Reporting on the tasks and budget mentioned above to both APSD and GLJ Insourcing team.

Problem Solving:

Handling issues arising within the CEE and India teams and acting as a bridge with the Japan side (APSD).

Nice to have(PM)

At least 8 years of advanced technology/consulting leadership experience in project management, program management, directering, etc.
Experience leading multiple programs from inception to completion
Understand Agile, programming languages, cloud, microservices, DevOps and other common technologies
Experience with budgeting, profitability, team management, stakeholder management
Experienced in client proposals through communication and presentation to the client executives.
Experienced in motivating team members across multiple countries to improve collaboration.
Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English (Benchmark: TOEIC800 for Native Japenese Speaker, Smooth communication with customers in Japanese/Good understanding of Japanese business practices required for Non-Native Japanese Speaker)

Job responsibilities

Responsible for a collection of multiple projects (programs) or for multiple interdependent projects

Work with lead strategists, lead designers, and architects to plan and lead the information collection, analysis, and implementation of project activities to stakeholders.

Determine, discuss, and agree on project deliverables.
Define the vision for the project and communicate the required results with guidelines for achieving the results. Coordinate the work of the team throughout the activities of the project.

Manage the alignment (consistency), promotion, reporting, and performance of the entire program, as well as meeting expected deadlines, budgets, and scope of work.

Strengthen the capabilities of the team by coordinating additional members internal and external team, and utilizing training, coaching, and mentoring as needed.

Plan, manage, and drive projects using GlobalLogic Japan's project management approach to ensure intended outcomes are achieved.
Engage in the creation of a project manager organization at GlobalLogic Japan.
