コンビニや飲食店で"ピッ"とかざして支払いができる電子マネー、加盟している多くの店舗で共通してポイントが貯まるポイントカード。それらの決済システムや、ポイント付与システムの開発をはじめとする、私たちの生活を"便利"で"快適"にしてくれる「Webシステムの開発」を手掛けている会社がB社。「何か人の役に立つものを作りたい」その思いを大事に、バラエティ溢れるシステム開発を手掛けています。
■あくなき自社開発へのチャレンジ
「枠にとらわれず、奇想天外なものに挑戦したい」そんな想いのもと設立されたB社。自社プロダクトの開発にも積極的。顔写真を判別不能な状態に分割、シャッフルして名刺に印刷し、専用のスマホアプリで顔写真を復元して思い出させてくれる"名刺管理ツール"や、ゲーム感覚で簿記の勉強ができるアプリなど、様々な自社プロダクトの開発にチャレンジしています。新しいモノを生み出すには失敗がつきもの。B社では失敗にめげることなく、あくなき自社開発へのチャレンジを続けています。
■社長も"IT知識ゼロ"からスタートしたエンジニアです
今から30年以上前。高校卒業後に医療系企業の技術者として就職した社長。「医療系の会社は合わない」と感じて、6年間在籍した会社を思い切って退職。高卒未経験でも採用してくれそうな会社を探していたところ、「IT業界」に出会ったのです。プログラマの仕事は社長にとって天職でした。覚えなければいけないことも多かったのですが、とにかくおもしろく、60代を迎えた現在でも「現役エンジニア」として活躍中。新しいテクノロジーの開発に、大きな"夢"と"情熱"を抱き続けています。
