We're looking for an Senior Art Director to lead our client's visual development of creative campaigns, ensuring high-quality design output that aligns with client objectives and brand identity.
This role requires a blend of creative vision, leadership, and hands-on design expertise, with some experience in Financial Services a plus.
The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling through visuals, thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, and has a deep understanding of Tokyo's creative and cultural landscape.
Key ResponsibilitiesCreative Vision & Art Direction:
Define and champion the visual language for advertising campaigns, brand identities, and multi-channel content, delivering cohesive, high-impact creative work across every touchpoint.
Idea Generation & Creative Ideation:
Partner with strategists, copywriters, and cross-functional teams to spark and shape bold, culturally sharp concepts that connect deeply with target audiences.
Design Craftsmanship:
Hands-on creation of compelling visual assets; from mood & inspiration boards, storyboards, and key visuals to polished final designs optimized for print, social, web, and emerging platforms.
Client Partnership & Presentation:
Confidently present creative directions to clients, skillfully navigate feedback, and protect the core vision while delivering work that exceeds expectations.
Team Leadership & Development:
Inspire and grow junior designers and creative talent through hands-on mentoring, clear direction, honest critique, and by building a positive, high-trust studio culture.
Tokyo-Centric Cultural Radar:
Maintain a sharp pulse on Tokyo's fast-evolving design scene, street culture, youth trends, and consumer sensibilities to craft campaigns that feel authentically local yet resonate internationally.
Creative Project Leadership:
Own multiple projects end-to-end; juggling timelines, budgets, team resources, and client needs while consistently protecting creative quality under real-world pressure.
Who You Are:
6+ years of experience in an agency environment as an Art Director/Senior Designer.
Proven track record of leading creative campaigns across print, digital, and social media.
Expertise in designing within brand guidelines across diverse projects.
Deep experience in integrated digital and print campaigns, with general skills in motion graphics and video production.
Success working in collaborative, multi-functional teams across global time zones and technologies.
Experience in multicultural and global team environments is a plus.
Strong ability to understand and apply specific brand guidelines effectively.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Sketch, and Figma; experience with After Effects and Premiere Pro is a bonus.
