Performance Analysis Engineer
The role requires collaboration with various disciplines, including Aerodynamics, Flight Characteristics, Flight Controls, Battery, Motor, Test (rigs, ground and flight), requirements management, and activities related to achieving certification.
The successful candidate will join a small technical team and require strong interpersonal skills, a work ethic, efficient self-management, a passion for learning new skills, and helping develop others in a multilingual environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for performance analysis.
- Support aircraft-level integration by providing performance expertise and tools to support the program and activities of other technical teams.
- Participate positively in the development and management of performance analysis and design requirements, from capture, through validation and verification, and compliance for certification.
- Apply best practices by combining knowledge from conventional aerospace and new approaches for eVTOL, emphasizing the needs of a lean start-up culture with novel designs and unique operational characteristics.
- (Scope of change) Reassignment may occur to any other work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in performance analysis for aerospace vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team that has developed performance analysis tools and environments.
- Experience of performance-related flight test programs for aerospace vehicles.
- Knowledge of technical requirements for performance discipline and participation in managing them throughout the life-cycle (capture, mature, validation and verification).
- Knowledge in at least one-of Part/CS 23/25/27/29 requirements relating to performance.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, etc.
- Creative approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in developing analysis from a blank sheet and from first principles to aid aircraft design, integration, and testing.
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
- Good time management and inter-personal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders. Proactive attitude to ensure the optimum outcome for the program.
- Business level English and able to build positive relationships in a multilingual environment.
Desirable
- Performance knowledge and experience for multicopters. If no practical experience then at least an understanding of theory and the challenges.
Language Requirement:
- Bilingual English and Japanese (N2 and above)
Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
