What you'll do
· Manage and engineer the company's global Relational Database solutions
· Ensure and enhance the integrity of our mission-critical data offering
· Innovate and take responsibility for the database environment
· Troubleshoot and support the databases as part of a global team of DBAs
· Work closely with other teams to improve and enhance the estate
· Make and implement recommendations to prevent reoccurring issues and automate manual processes
· Interface and communicate with all levels of the business, up to and including the CTO
You should have
· years' experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment
· Excellent knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB
· Exposure to other databases (Sybase, MongoDB, Postgres or MSSQL)
· All database management activities, performance tuning, estate improvement planning and implementation
· Complex database replication topology support
· Installation, migration and upgrade experience
· Backups, Restores, HA and DR skills
· Database performance tuning
· Stored Procedures and SQL writing
· UNIX scripting skills. Strong knowledge of at least one of bash, ksh, perl, ruby
· Awareness of and adherence to production change management processes and procedures
· Knowledge of supporting Java applications an advantage
· oncall support of weekends experience
