募集概要

当社では、意欲的かつ優秀な脂質ナノ粒子製剤研究者(研究員またはプリンシパルサイエンティスト)を募集しています。本ポジションは、初期段階の創薬研究および前臨床動物試験候補の製剤開発を支援する、デリバリーチームの中核的役割を担います。業務の約80%は実験室での実務、残り20%はCRO(外部委託研究機関)との連携・実験計画立案に充てられます。

本職では、本社ボストンのLNP製剤担当責任者とアラインを取りながら、mRNAを内包するLNP製剤の設計・最適化・特性評価を行います。また、分析、薬理、製造などの他部門と連携しながら、プラットフォームの推進およびパイプライン開発を支援します。

理想的な候補者は、複雑な脂質ベースのナノ製剤の開発経験を有し、製剤プロセスの最適化・トラブルシューティング、革新的材料の探索に長けている方です。核酸医薬品のデリバリーを目的としたLNP製剤の経験は必須です。

主な業務内容

・LNPスケールアップに向けた初期プロセス開発の設計・実施

・マイクロ流体混合法やT型混合法などのLNP混合技術およびTFF(限外ろ過)などの下流工程の改善

・製剤スクリーニングにおける実験計画法(Design of Experiment, DOE)の活用

・社内試験用サンプルの調製と、材料の正確かつ迅速な移送

・CROとの連携によるスクリーニング、スケールアップ、技術力強化

・プロセス最適化およびバッチ間再現性のための製品特性評価

・実験データ、手順、プロトコルの厳密な記録管理

・データのレビュー・分析および部門横断的な説明・報告

・創造的な問題解決と技術革新を推進するチームとの協働

・科学的誠実性と責任感

・部門間の円滑なコミュニケーションとプロジェクト支援

応募資格・要件

・化学、化学工学、生物工学、または関連分野の博士号取得者(業界経験2年以上)、修士号取得者(業界経験4年以上)、学士号取得者(業界経験7年以上)

・以下の実務経験を有すること:

- 核酸医薬品のナノ製剤(Precision Nanosystems Spark、Unchained Labs Sunscreen等の使用経験含む)

- ろ過技術、ナノ粒子の特性評価

- HPLC、UV-Vis、蛍光プレートアッセイ

・自律的な研究遂行能力と、変化の激しい起業環境での適応力

・優れた問題解決能力、対人スキル、創造性、熱意、信頼性

Typewriter Therapeutics is a genome engineering and next-generation gene therapy company. Through repurposing a class of genetic elements from various natural genomes, Typewriter Therapeutics aims to develop an all-RNA-mediated gene writing platform via nonviral delivery to address unmet therapeutic needs.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented formulation Scientist / Principal Scientist to be a key member of the delivery team, to enable both early-stage discovery research efforts as well as the development of drug product formulations for our preclinical animal study candidates. This is a hands-on, on-site laboratory role, with approximately 80% lab-based work and 20% dedicated to CRO research operations oversight and experiment planning.

This individual will be actively engaged in the design, optimization, and characterization of LNP formulations encapsulating mRNA and will interface with cross-functional teams including analytical, pharmacology, and manufacturing to advance platform initiatives and pipeline programs in alignment with the LNP formulation lead at the Boston site. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to develop highly intricate lipid-based nano-formulations, including optimization and troubleshooting of the formulation process and exploration of novel materials. Previous experience with formulations of lipid nanoparticles for the delivery of nucleic acid-based pharmaceuticals is required.

The candidate is expected to be a strong collaborator who enjoys scientific discovery, has a passion for working on cutting-edge technology, and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

・Design, implement, and execute early process development activities for LNP scale-up

・Setup and improve LNP mixing (e.g. microfluidic mixing and T-mixing) and downstream processing techniques, such as tangential flow filtration (TFF)

・Develop Design of Experiment (DOE) principles for formulation screening activities

・Prepare samples for internal studies, ensuring timely and accurate transfer of materials

・Collaborate with external CROs for additional screening, scaling, and capability building

・Characterize product profiles for process optimization and batch-to-batch reproducibility

・Maintain meticulous documentation of all experimental data, procedures, and protocols

・Review and analyze data and be able to present and explain across the functional teams

・Collaborate with a team of scientists to creatively solve problems and drive innovation

・Maintain high standards for scientific integrity and accountability

・Communicate across departments and support project teams

Requirements:

・PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related discipline with at least 2 year of relevant industry experience, MS with at least 4 years of relevant industry experience, BS with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience

・Hands-on experience with the following:

-Nano-formulation of nucleic acid-based therapeutics, including via Precision Nanosystems Spark and/or Unchained Labs Sunscreen, filtration techniques, characterization of nanoparticulate matter

-HPLC, UV-Vis, plate-based fluorescence assays

・Able to conduct self-directed research and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial setting with a diverse team of coworkers
