Job Title: Backend Engineer
Eagle Eye Networks is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and overall product life cycle of our flagship video security services and applications. As an individual contributor on our Agile delivery teams, you will be responsible for engineering backend solutions to challenging global scale problems, creating well-designed and delightful user experiences that deliver capabilities in real-time to users worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable microservices and APIs using cloud-based technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our backend services, utilizing expertise in containerization, orchestration, and monitoring tools.
- Work closely with QA engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, implementing fixes and enhancements to meet customer needs and expectations.
- Contribute to the definition, documentation, debugging, and maintenance of full-stack applications, ensuring high-quality code, architecture, and collaboration with other teams.
Requirements:
- 8-10 years of experience building and delivering cloud-based services and applications in a CI/CD environment.
- Proven mastery of modern managed languages, primarily TypeScript, and optionally Python or Go.
- Familiarity with backing stores and databases, including SQL/NoSQL, such as Postgres and Redis.
- History of delivering products built on multiple frameworks, such as Express or Django.
- Demonstrated ability to code, define, document, debug, and maintain full-stack applications.
- A Agile mentality required, with a focus on designing, coding, testing, and delivering solutions based on customer feedback.
- Understanding and expertise in the security, surveillance, or IoT domains is a significant plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clarify design points with architects and product owners, as well as work with customer service to solve customer problems.
