The role is responsible in APAC for planning and coordinating shipping, transportation, receiving and distribution activities for clinical and commercial cell therapy apheresis material and finished product including shipping system management and logístical planning tasks.
You will carry out day-to-day logistics tasks for region Europe in close collaboration with Scheduling & Logistics and supports and lead logistics projects and improvements initiatives.
Main internal partners are Global Logistics & Trade, Scheduling & Logistics, Apheresis Operations, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Manufacturing Science & Technology and Project Management within APAC and across the globe.
Key external collaborators are specialty courier companies, shipping system providers, logistics visibility platforms, contract manufacturing organizations, cryopreservation hubs and distribution hubs.
- Execute monthly, weekly and daily logistics activities in liaison with Apheresis Operations and Scheduling & Logistics
- Run operations with logistics suppliers and continuously improve ways of working and performance
- Support logístical readiness for country launches and new manufacturing plant go lives
- Lead weekly and monthly operations and business review meetings with logistics suppliers
- Provide inputs to new and updated logistics procedures and support correctness of supplier procedures
- Handle deviations, perform root cause analysis, and create CAPA's to improve services
- Investigate discrepancies including root cause analysis, CAPA provision and effectiveness checks
- Implement and lead logistics change controls and improvement initiatives
- Monitor and control correct shipment execution and adherence to planned milestones and service levels
- Support supplier selection and implementation projects and initiatives
- Execute transport requests and shipping system orders within Europe and between Europe and other regions
- Work closely with manufacturing plants and distribution hubs for effective execution of shipping and receiving tasks
- Report logistics performance within standard KPI and metrics framework and on ad hoc basis
- Facilitate weekly and monthly operations and business review meetings with logistics suppliers
- Assess, implement, and support logistics change controls and improvement initiatives
- Communicate business volume forecasts in different categories and scopes to logistics suppliers
- Support logistics invoice auditing, reconciliation and payment including purchase order management
- Document shipping system configurations and issue and update required templates
- Manage activities and project milestones to implement changes and improvements
- Analyze and facilitate reporting, data visualizations, and process reengineering activities for operations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics management or equivalent
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant logistics, planning, or supply chain experience in a pharma/biotech or health services environment
- Good knowledge of GDP regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of domestic and international pharmaceuticals shipping requirements and transport regulations (IATA DGR, export and import etc )
- Experience with complex and highly regulated pharma supply chain and logistics models
- Experience with courier vendor management
- Demonstrated ability to work crossfunctionally and to develop and maintain strong business partner relationships.
- Skilled in planning tasks, organizing work and communicating problem statements and solution proposals both in Japanese and English.
