Our client, a leading company in the fashion retail industry, is seeking a Head of Finance fluent in Japanese for a hybrid role offering a competitive salary of 15-18 million JPY. This position provides the opportunity to lead a team of accountants, oversee all accounting operations, and support strategic financial planning, working closely with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
• • Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS
• • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
• • Design and enforce internal controls for data integrity
• • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• • Analyze financial performance to identify trends and risks
• • Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury operations
• • Lead ERP/accounting systems implementation or enhancement

Qualifications:

• • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• • Fluency in Japanese, Business-level English
• • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
• • 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role
• • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
• • Proficiency with ERP systems SAP S4/HANA, HFM (Hyperion)
• • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• • Experience in the retail industry is preferred but not mandatory
• • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred but not mandatory
