About The Opportunity
FCM Japan is fast growing. With our ongoing global investment in our technology platforms, existing blue-chip client portfolio, and multinational client acquisition, we are well placed to capture significant market share over the next three years. The Finance Manager has a key role to play in this growth opportunity. This opportunity is primed for someone looking to fast track their finance career in a global organisation. You will be exposed to all elements of Finance, including managing an offshore Transactional Finance team, regulatory filings, and business partnering to our local and global management teams. The right candidate will find themselves in an organisation where progress is fast, and only limited by their own personal ambition.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Manage all general accounting activities of the company
- Be responsible for accuracy of the financial reporting and tax compliance
- Supervise the outsourced accounting team and make sure they achieve the targeted SLAs
- Support the finance team to design robust controls and processes to have a strong internal control framework
- Perform ad-hoc business partnering to the Japan Leadership team
You will also be a lead in general accounting and are primarily responsible for maintaining correct accounting records for the company.
- Maintain up-to-date records in our general accounting (including, but not limited to accruals, fixed assets, payroll & tax entries, customer invoicing, supplier payment & reconciliations)
- Ensure compliance of our financial statements with local GAAPS and IFRS standards
- Oversee the transactional accounting activities (AR & AP) to make sure they report complete and accurate numbers
- Prepare tax reporting to ensure compliance with Japanese requirements (for technical tax matters you will be 1st point of contact with the tax advisor)
- Lead the financial closing process and financial reporting to our group
- Ensure all balance sheet and sub ledger reconciliations are correctly done every month
- Monitor our cash flow by designing appropriate controls and processes (cash flow forecast, etc.)

- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Both Japanese and English language skills
- Accounting qualification (e.g. JICPA)
- Technical accounting knowledge
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Basic leadership and team management skills
- Ability to design efficient process and controls
