Superintendent Job Description

Gilbane is seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to support our project at MCAS, Iwakuni, Japan.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management and be able to lead a team of trade contractors to ensure high-quality work and meet the approved project schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct day-to-day coordination of Gilbane's trade contractors and their sub-contractors
• Develop and communicate work plans regarding changes made in the field
• Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents to anticipate potential problems
• Obtain or verify necessary permits for construction purposes
• Act as primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies
• Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment
• Lead contractor meetings on a regular basis
• Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore

Requirements:

• BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
• 5-10 years experience on $15 million or larger commercial/industrial construction projects in a superintendent role
• ICD 705 experience
• Experience with requirements of EM 385-1-1 and experience in areas of hazard identification and safety compliance
• Active Secret security clearance required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
