The Job

You will be responsible for :

  • Preparing non-consolidated and consolidated financial statements for domestic and overseas group entities in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Generating management reports based on accounting information to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate disclosure of financial statements, including securities reports and financial statements under the Companies Act of Japan.
  • Assisting with audits, including liaising with auditors, preparing audit schedules, and investigating and resolving known issues, discrepancies, and non-compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating cross-functionally with departments across the organization to address accounting issues and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Staying abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, and implementing necessary updates to financial reporting processes.

The Profile

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA qualification would be preferred.
  • You have at least 5 years of Accounting experience in an IT Software company, preferably within a fast-paced start-up.
  • You possess hands-on experience in stand-alone and consolidated accounting for both domestic and overseas subsidiaries.
  • You have a thorough understanding of Japanese GAAP guidelines. Knowledge of US GAAP is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience working in multi-market accounting teams is preferred.
  • You pay strong attention to detail and deliver work that is of a high standard
  • You can work well with cross-border teams and support senior stakeholders to drive business outcomes
  • Fluent proficiency in Japanese and business proficiency in English is required to liaise with stakeholders both in Japan and globally.
