Data/Solution Engineer at Capital Group

We are seeking a skilled Data/Solution Engineer to join our IT organization in Tokyo, Japan.

As a Data/Solution Engineer, you will play a key role in building data solutions, services, and tools to drive business growth and democratize data access within the Europe and Asia Client Group (EACG) Technology team.

You will collaborate closely with clients to develop tailored data solutions that enable them to gather valuable insights and make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement medium-to-high-complexity data and analytics products.
• Write, maintain, and improve code for data quality, data processing pipelines, and various data access patterns.
• Develop end-to-end data processing pipelines, including ingestion, data modeling, and curation.
• Perform code quality assurance activities and testing of functional and non-functional aspects.
• Collaborate with supporting teams to design, build, and support data platforms.
• Integrate technology solutions to amplify business capabilities.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Mentor junior associates and ensure high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

• Background in data engineering and analytics with a passion for learning.
• Data-driven problem-solving skills to address business challenges.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Fluency in Japanese and English.
• At least 6-8 years of experience in SQL, ETL tools, Tableau, Alteryx, SSRS, PowerBI, AWS, Azure, Databricks, ReactJS, Angular, Rest API Services, Python, and cloud certifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data strategy and related business areas.
