Company
We are supporting a global cybersecurity SaaS company, founded in 2012, which develops an advanced AI-powered platform for endpoint protection, detection, and response (EDR, XDR). Their technology helps enterprise customers identify and stop complex cyberattacks in real time.
The company operates worldwide, including Japan, and has a very strong engineering culture.
HQ is in San Diego, and they have a small but highly skilled team in Tokyo.
Work mode is hybrid, around 2 office days per week.

Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor 5-6 full-stack engineers, support their professional growth, and help keep high technical standards
• Take part in architecture discussions and guide decisions across the
T3 stack
, tRPC, Prisma, TypeScript)
• Work hands-on around 60–70% of the time on full-stack features
• Build high-quality user interfaces, dashboards, and different data-driven modules
•
Design backend APIs
(REST, tRPC) and
work with real-time data
(WebSockets)
• Handle database modeling, complex queries, and performance improvements
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to deliver features end-to-end
• Review code, ensure best practices, and help balance feature delivery with technical debt
• Participate in sprint planning and communicate technical decisions clearly
• Follow and implement security best practices, important in cybersecurity environments
Requirements
• 5+ years of full-stack development, including strong hands-on experience with and the T3 TypeScript stack
• 2+ years of technical leadership experience
• Solid experience at software product company/ies
• Experience building APIs (REST, WebSockets, tRPC or similar)
• Database design experience and ORM tools
• Proven experience delivering complex features from start to finish in a software product company
• Understanding of system design, scalability, and performance
• Familiar with testing, documentation, and code review processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with international teams
• Fluent English
Advantages
• Experience with dashboards or real-time visualizations (Recharts, )
• Background in cybersecurity or enterprise-level applications
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architecture
• Cloud and DevOps knowledge (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
• tRPC, Prisma, or end-to-end type-safe API experience
• Experience interviewing or onboarding engineers
• Japanese language skills are a plus
