Job Overview:

GL events Japan K.K. is the Japanese branch of GL events, a global leader in integrated event solutions and services. Leveraging decades of expertise in major international sporting events; including the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup and many others, the company delivers end-to-end solutions across event space design, overlay and temporary infrastructure, operations, logistics, and technical support. The Communication Officer to manage, develop, and execute communication strategies that strengthen organizational reputation, ensure consistent messaging, and foster engagement both internally and externally

Internal Communications

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Draft and distribute content across intranet, newsletters, emails, and internal platforms.
  • Support leadership communication by preparing talking points, presentations, and updates.
  • Promote organizational culture through storytelling, campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor employee feedback and adjust communication approaches accordingly.

External Communications

  • Manage media relations including press releases, interviews, and public statements.
  • Oversee social media presence and ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Coordinate with marketing to align campaigns with corporate communication goals.
  • Prepare crisis communication plans and act as spokesperson when required.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders including clients, partners, and the public

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese (Japanese language proficiency is mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese business culture, practices, and communication norms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience in media relations, corporate communications, or public relations.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools (social media, intranet, newsletters).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
