About Us

Rakuten Mobile's Cloud Platform Division provides the virtualized infrastructure for our mobile network.

We are part of the Cloud Engineering Department, responsible for designing, deploying, and operating virtualization infrastructure software for containers and virtual machines.

Together with advanced cloud technology engineers, you can engage in creative work that evolves the mobile network daily.

Our team is comprised of approximately 50 members, primarily focused on engineering and operations of telecom cloud technology.

Job Responsibilities

1. Lead engineering and operational management of our telecom cloud platform, focusing on in-house operations.
2. Oversee the entire lifecycle of the platform, including design, verification, and deployment in commercial settings.
3. Enhance efficiency of daily operations and contribute to continuous operational improvement.
4. Act as a technical leader, driving business improvements and fostering team member development.
5. Coordinate closely with stakeholders, including vendors and departments utilizing telecommunications applications.

Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in telecom cloud design, construction, and management, specifically on-premises private clouds.
2. Proven ability to produce key documentation, including requirements definition documents and design documents.
3. Proficient troubleshooting skills across hardware stacks, operating systems, networks, and cloud platform software.
4. Strong development skills focused on operational efficiency and automation.
5. Test engineering expertise, capable of creating test plans and ensuring quality assurance.
6. Leadership skills necessary to oversee operations as a technical leader, emphasizing progress and risk management.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in telecom application design, development, and management, especially packet core and RAN technologies.
2. Familiarity with telecom application standards, notably those from 3GPP.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
