【 Job Description】
As a Mobile Engineer for the company's app, you'll be responsible for development and operations related to the service, as well as leading the development efforts of your team.
Your main tasks will include participating in product meetings, establishing your role as a technical expert, and making optimal technology selections from a tech lead perspective to find efficient development methods. When team members are working on specific development tasks, you'll set up the foundation to support smooth progress and contribute to improving members' skills through code reviews.
Recently, the company has been pushing to transition the app to Flutter, considering migrating each service screen. This will allow them to effectively update frequently improved parts while maintaining balance with the existing frontend. You'll lead development for this project, from product foundation to project completion.
Specifically:
Requirement definition, design, implementation, (code review), verification, and release work
Defect investigation, modification, research, etc.
Support for updates to SDKs, libraries, and company policies
Propose and implement improvements to the development process
Based on the above development lead, you will be responsible for streamlining the implementation of Flutter and making proposals to increase productivity within the team.
Depending on your experience and aspirations, you could also take on team management, including meetings with other section leaders, task management, conducting 1-on-1s, evaluations, setting team goals, mentoring members, and participating in casual interviews and interviews for engineer recruitment.
【Team Structure】
The development organization is divided into two teams: Service Development and Development Infrastructure.
The Service Development team is responsible for managing projects and operations, consisting of about 10 members (PjM, frontend engineers, backend engineers). Typically, 3-4 projects run in parallel, with multiple ongoing projects currently focused on re-architecting and feature improvements. The team is 90% remote, utilizing Slack for responsive communication.
When running initiative lines, the company operates a matrix-style organization where members from the service development team, business, and design participate. PdMs, PjMs, frontend engineers, backend engineers, and QA specialists are dispatched to form project teams for each initiative.
Additionally, the company's development team actively introduces various skill-building initiatives, such as coaching, workshops, LT (Lightning Talk) sessions, and GCP learning programs. They also proactively engage with the latest technologies, ensuring all members can acquire broader and deeper technical expertise.
The team emphasizes an agile development style and robust internal communication, with the following key initiatives:
Development cycles at short intervals of one to two weeks to achieve high frequency of releases.
Small teams are formed for each unit, enabling quick decision-making and speedy PDCA cycles.
Review is conducted by the engineer leader and tech lead for each pull request.
Close proximity to planners and weekly 1-on-1s with VPoEs strengthen vertical and horizontal ties.
