In this role, you will be responsible for:
-Perform month end closing activities, including preparation of accrual entries and reclassification/adjustment entries
-Ensure proper documentation and filing records
-Assist to prepare financial and management reports and ensure the timely submission of the monthly management report
-Assist to perform variance analysis on the financial statements, explain key drivers of significant variances
-Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, processes and procedures
-Handle payments and AP-related duties such as checking and reconciling supplier/vendor invoices to quotations and handling discrepancies
-Handle billing-related inquiries on external and internal customers
-Liaise with Singapore team on their queries on financial and treasury matters
-Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff engagement activities in Japan such as arranging interviews, liaising with candidates and recruitment agencies, organizing onboarding, training and staff get-together events
-Support HR payroll and benefits administration such as staff attendance, overtime, health screening, medical insurance claim and other compliance matters.
-Liaise with Singapore HR team on HR matters
-Assist in other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Supervisor
Prerequisites for the role include:
-Diploma/Degree in Finance and Accounting, Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications
-Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
-Knowledge of accounting, consumption tax, corporate tax, and withholding tax requirements is a PLUS.
-Ability to understand and communicate in simple English
-Good interpersonal and communication skills
-Independent, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
-Team player who is hands-on, with a can-do attitude, and able to work effectively in a team
