Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Local Project Manager (PM) to join our team in Yokohama, Japan.

As a Local PM, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects while ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive project success in our Yokohama office.

Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets for local initiatives
Lead and motivate project teams to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels
Manage project resources, including team members and vendors
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
Facilitate meetings and workshops to drive project progress
Collaborate with other departments to align project goals with organizational objectives
Adapt project management methodologies to suit local business practices and culture
Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Prepare and present project reports and documentation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in Japan
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Strong skills in using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Japanese and English
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget
In-depth knowledge of local business practices and regulations in Japan
Understanding of Japanese work culture and communication styles
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in stakeholder management and client relations
