Renewable Energy and Digital Infrastructure are among the fastest growing and most strategically important sectors in Japan.
With Japan's decarbonization targets, energy security priorities, and the government's strong commitment to carbon neutrality, demand is rapidly increasing for professionals with expertise in offshore wind project development, execution, and other renewable energy technologies.
Our team specializes in originating new client relationships, identifying quality talent for specific needs and contribute directly to revenue growth through effective candidate and client management.
We are looking for an Associate Consultant to support and drive the expansion of our Japan business by strengthening our candidate network and deepening client relationships across these key sectors.
The role reports to our Japan - Head of Recruitment and sits within a broader team of five other colleagues.
The position offers flexibility and long-term career progression, with the opportunity to grow into a consultant role as the Japan platform continues to expand.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As Associate Consultant at Taylor Hopkinson, you will build long-term relationships with clients and candidates to connect quality specialists to roles at companies in Japan and across APAC.
Manage end-to-end recruitment process, including vacancy understanding, candidate presentation, interview coordination, and offer negotiation
Source, screen, and interview high quality candidates through proactive outreach, networking, and database management
Develop and manage client relationships within assigned industries, understanding recruitment needs and providing market insights
Build and develop new relationships with clients; specifically, new business development with clients
Attend industry networking events and represent the firm in a professional manner
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have's
Minimum of two years' experience in an agency recruitment role (preferred) or in a account management/sales role
Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently
Excels in a high-pressured environment and capable of delivering on time-sensitive cases
Demonstrates strong ownership and a genuine interest in building long-term relationships with professional networks
Strong communication skills - with the ability to listen effectively and respond in a timely and professional manner
High level of professionalism with strong interpersonal skills when engaging with candidates, clients, and internal stakeholders
Fluency in Japanese, business level English
Nice-to-have
Experience in recruitment or talent sourcing, preferably supporting roles in the energy, manufacturing, or broader corporate sectors
Proven track record of acquiring new client accounts and contributing to business growth
