About TCG
TCG is an emerging sustainability brand grounded in scientific research and material innovation. Our mission is to provide stylish, well-designed, and reasonably priced sustainable clothing to consumers who are looking for a better alternative. We hope to bring new materials, new processes, and new ideas out of the lab and into the marketplace.
We currently operate retail stores in Hong Kong and are expanding across Japan and East Asia. Our goal is to become a leading regional omni-channel brand. In Japan, our small but highly experienced startup team includes suppliers, designers, and operations professionals from across Asia. We have launched several pop-ups in Tokyo and are preparing to open additional stores — including a flagship location — in the coming months.
TCG is now seeking Sales Associates to join our growing retail team in Japan and help deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
About the Role
As a TCG Sales Associate, you will be the face of the brand and play a key role in shaping the customer experience in our stores. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in sustainability, fashion, and service excellence. You will work closely with the store manager and HQ team to help build brand awareness, drive sales performance, and maintain an inviting retail environment that reflects TCG's values.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with TCG's values and brand experience
- Engage customers with product storytelling, fit guidance, and styling support
- Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
Store Presentation & Operations
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising standards
- Support stock replenishment, product tagging, steaming, and movement of merchandise
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including POS operations
Brand Advocacy & Sustainability Education
- Share TCG's mission, sustainability principles, and material innovation narrative with customers
- Learn product features deeply and communicate them confidently
- Provide feedback on customer behavior, product fit, and market insights
Pop-Up & Event Support
- Assist with pop-ups, brand events, and special initiatives
- Support store setup, breakdown, and logistics when required
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in Japanese and conversational in English
- 1–2+ years of retail sales or customer-facing experience preferred
- Comfort using POS systems and basic retail technology
- Friendly, confident, and warm communication style
- Team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in apparel, lifestyle brands, or premium retail environments
- Conversational in Chinese (Mandarin) a plus
