Theme:
Research and development of isotope geochronology, geology, and geochemistry for better understanding geological environment change.
This research theme aims to develop elemental techniques for precise estimation of short- and long-term geomorphic/geologic histories, including the processes, patterns and rates, based on approaches of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, geomorphology, isotope geochronology, groundwater science and Quaternary research.
"Estimation of thermal-erosion history based on trapped-charge thermochronology"
This research theme is carried out as part of projects funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Qualification requirements
Applicants must have a PhD degree in the related research field (including applicants who will receive their doctoral degree by the time of employment).
Applicants must be within 8 years of receiving their PhD.In particular, experience in geological surveys such as field works, and petrological and mineralogical studies based on thin section preparation and microscopic observation of geological samples is desirable.
For the theme, experience in analyzing and evaluating thermal- erosion history based on, e.g., geo-/thermo-chronological, petrological, and/or geomorphological approaches.Applicants with a history as a postdoctoral researcher at JAEA are not eligible to apply.
Terms of employment
Salary:
Approximately JPY500,000 per month (including social insurance fee and tax)
Treatment:
Commutation and housing allowances are paid according to employees.
Working Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. (There is possibility to work over time)
Intermission: 12:00pm-1:00pm
Holiday:
Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays, year-end holidays, annual paid leaves, special leaves, etc.
Social Insurance, etc:
Health insurance, welfare pension insurance, corporate pension fund, unemployment insurance, workers accident compensation insurance.
Welfare:
Institute family resident and dormitory are available.
Probation period:
This position includes a 6-month probation period.
