TEAM
Arene is a modern software platform that supports the creation, deployment and continuous improvement of software-defined vehicles. Arene consists of tooling, vehicle software, and a data platform to enable rapid development and reuse, while maintaining safety and security.

At a high level, Arene Data deals with two kinds of data:

• Software development lifecycle data, where Arene Data provides a secure and scalable cloud location for the data generated during the development of software defined vehicles, which in turn enables data-driven decisions, supports the Toyota Production System, drives customer value, generates revenue, and reduces product time-to-market.
• Vehicle data, where Arene Data is responsible for ingesting, processing, and providing actual and simulated vehicle data to internal and external customers within the Toyota group with one of the main use-cases being the improvement of ADAS functionalities.

You will report to the Team Lead of the designated team under Arene Data, and the role is Onsite.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our team is developing a system that enables data users to easily and efficiently collect the data they need from a large number of vehicles already deployed in the market. This product provides an integrated platform for managing all processes related to data collection, including configuration, update, distribution, and monitoring. Through this unified approach, our goal is to support a wide variety of large-scale use cases and realize a robust foundation for mobility-related data acquisition.

While the system adopts a typical web application architecture with both frontend ) and backend components (FastAPI), it also presents unique and challenging aspects:

・Achieving secure and reliable remote distribution of data collection instructions to a variety of target vehicles, including those already in the market, through close technical collaboration with in-vehicle engineers

・Designing a user experience that allows data users with diverse needs to intuitively and abstractly configure collection requirements

・Addressing advanced requirements such as secure cross-platform data integration (across cloud and in-vehicle systems), cost management, and strict adherence to privacy guidelines

・Facilitating effective communication in English with engineers responsible for related systems such as the Arene Data platform, and promoting collaboration within a global team

By designing, developing, and operating this product, we contribute to accelerating data utilization and the creation of new service value in the mobility industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web applications for data users
• Develop & maintain converter to generate artifacts which will be distributed to vehicles
• Design and develop infrastructure (AWS) for web applications to be deployed
• Maintain github actions to maintain CICD pipeline
• Design and develop data streaming pipeline

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience with Python, Kotlin, Java, or related programming languages
• Experience with cloud-based (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) architectures
• Hands-on experience with developing containerized applications with Docker
• Experience with SQL and managing databases
• Business-level proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing

NICE TO HAVES

• Fluent Japanese to communicate with team members and stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with web UI development using front-end frameworks (e.g., , React, )
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience with building and maintaining real-time stream processing pipelines with Kafka, Flink, or similar technologies
